Meet Mr. McMurray!
I grew up in the western burbs, Lisle to be precise. After high school I matriculated (theres a $10 word!) to the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign where I majored in history. Inspired to be a teacher like my mother, I moved to Chicago and attended UIC for a Master's degree in Education. I am entering my 6th year of teaching, having worked at Fremd HS and ChiArts, before coming to OPRF, where I'm starting my second year. In that time, I've taught US History, American Studies, APUSH, Psychology, Criminal and Civil Law, Multicultural Perspectives, World History, and Human Geography. At OPRF, I am also an Assistant Golf and Track Coach. In my spare time, I am an avid golfer, like to run, travel, read history and news, listen to good music no matter the genre, watch more Netflix than I believe to be healthy. Most importantly I am a proud father and husband with a two-year old son Jackson (Jay, Jax, Jackie boy) and my wife Erin (both pictured below). I look forward to being your teacher and leading you in one step of your educational journey and having a few laughs mixed in with some "aha" moments this year. To better illustrate my essence, I've added some pics below.
